Implementation of ISO 1043-3/-4 in IMDS Basic Substance List

As announced in the IMDS Newsletter #62, due to polymeric parts marking requirements in GB/T 19515 the following Pseudo-Substances have been hidden:

22 new flame retardants have been added, referring to the specific FR code. These can only be used where the flame-retardant substance is not listed in GADSL:

Non-standardized MDSs published by IMDS Steering Committee to be hidden

Please note that non-standardized MDSs that were published by the IMDS Steering Committee in the companies Stahl- und Eisen-Liste (313), IMDS-Committee (423) and IMDS-Committee / ILI Metals (18986), will be hidden on 3rd June 2024.

These hidden MDSs can then no longer be found nor used in new MDSs. Nevertheless, the use of received MDSs referencing these MDSs will still be possible.

The reason for hiding the MDSs is that the IMDS Steering Committee is responsible for all its published datasheets and encourages IMDS users to use standard materials. However, this only works for standardized MDSs and only if they match the product. For non-standardized MDSs this may lead to non-compliance with regulations.

These MDSs will be hidden: xls file

The BMW Group will change their IT tool for checking MDSs in IMDS by 30 April 2024. The check will still follow the IMDS REC001 as well as the legal requirements. However, the text in the event of rejections will change slightly due to the new system. Additionally, with the new software, the BMW Group will also no longer accept data sheets in handshake mode.
