IMDS-A2 - AVAILABLE EXAMINER QUALITY CHECKS
All IMDS-a2 quality checks (Examiner function) are described in detail in the User Manual.
The following table presents a list of available checks:

IMDS Default Checks | All checks the IMDS system provides. |
Tree level check | Tests, that all MDS/Module types are the same on this tree level. |
Joker & confidential substance check | Checks if amount of Jokers and confidential substances exceed a given limit. |
Confidential substance reference check I |
Checks if confidential substances are referenced. |
Confidential substance reference check II |
Checks if confidential substances are referenced over a defined limit. |
Tolerance check | Checks if measured and calculated weight are within the given tolerance. |
Application check | Checks if applications are defined for all application relevant substances. |
Plastic/Metal check | Checks if symbols (for plastics) and Std. Material No. (for metals) are filled. |
Classification check | Checks that a Classification has been assigned to every Material. |
Part Number check | Checks for correct part number. This check compares the Part/Item Number of the Component MDS/Module against certain patterns. |
Parts Marking check | Checks for correct Parts Marking. This check verifies if the Parts Marking question has been answered if the Component MDS/Module is relevant for Parts Marking. |
CAS No. check | Checks if every Substance has a CAS No. |
Verify Part number against a MS Excel sheet |
Compares the Part number against Part numbers out of a Microsoft Excel sheet. |
Verify Part number against data source |
Compares the Part number against Part numbers out of a given data source (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL, MS Access, ...). |
Joker & confidential substance check (as in Rec. 001) |
Checks if amount of Jokers and confidential substances exceeds the recommended limit of 10% on each Material as described in Recommendation 001. |
Tradename check | Checks that every Material has a tradename. |
Norm check | Checks that every Material has at least one public norm or inhouse norm. |
Prohibited substances check | Checks if prohibited substances are used. |
Standard Material supplier check | Marks every Material, that is not from a standard material supplier ("Stahl und Eisen Liste" or the IMDS Committee). |
Default name check | Flags every node, where a default name is used, that is: it starts with "Copy_", "Kopie_", "Teil_", "Component_", "Halbzeug_", "SemiComponent_" or "Material_". |
Substance ranges check | Flags every substance using a range, where the delta (max - min) is grater than a user defined value. |
Check for recommendation compliance of ranges |
Flags every range, which does not comply with ranges allowed by the IMDS recommendations. |
Invalid Material classification check | Checks if a Material is using an invalid material classification (by now only classification 5.1, which is no longer valid). |
Check for deleted and hidden MDS/modules |
Iterates over the complete MDS tree and flags deleted and hidden MDS or Modules references. |
Check for deleted and hidden Substances |
Iterates over the MDS tree and flags deleted and hidden Substances. |
Check for correct Supplier Code | Checks if the Supplier Code matches a given pattern. |
Check for filled remark field in material MDS |
Checks if the remark field of a Material MDS contains a comment that should be checked manually. |
Development Sample Report check | Iterates over the MDS tree and flags development sample MDSs or Modules. |
New version check | Checks for new versions of referenced MDSs. |
Duty-to-declare substance reference check |
Checks if duty-to-declare substances are referenced over a defined limit. |
Prohibited substance reference check | Checks if prohibited substances are referenced over a defined limit. |
SVHC substance reference check | Checks if SVHC substances are referenced over a defined limit. |
Verify MDS references against a MS Excel Sheet |
Verifies if MDS references are or are not contained in a Microsoft Excel Sheet. |
ELV heavy metals check | Checks if substances of the ELV heavy metals group are referenced. |
Verify substances against a MS Excel Sheet |
Verifies if MDS has substances which are or are not contained in a Microsoft Excel Sheet. |
Recyclate Check | Checks for correctly filled recyclate information and/or exceeded thresholds. |
MDS is attached to Request check | Verifies if the given MDS is attached to a Request. |
