Additional IMDS-AI Service: Multiple Time Zone Download
Starting June 2019 DXC provides an additional service for AI customers: The “Multiple Time Zone Download” will allow to receive data from the IMDS system up to 3 times a day to optimize your processes.
This additional service supports primarily global companies having the need to process several times a day recent MDSs. More information can you find on our IMDS-AI pages.

Oracle's planned JAVA licensing policy change January 2019
With their planned licensing policy change Oracle will not post further updates of JRE 8 to its public download sites for commercial use after January 2019. IMDS-a2 Users may be impacted by Oracle's JAVA licensing policy change. IMDS-a2 is an application service developed in the Java programming language. The Java Runtime Environment version 8 (JRE 8) is a prerequisite to run this application and needs to be installed on each PC to use them. Changes with IMDS-a2 Release 11.1.1

Changes in IMDS-a2 pricing on October 1st, 2017
After a remarkable long period of stable pricing and a huge amount of system extensions and improvements with IMDS-a2 we’ll have to amend the conditions for IMDS-a2 base licenses on October 1st, 2017. New prices are published on the IMDS-a2 order page.

On May 4th, 2017 the new “IMDS Chemistry Manager” module in IMDS-a2 will be rolled out. With this enhancement IMDS-a2 completely provides the extensive IMDS Chemistry Manager functionalities and facilitates the administration of regulatory information.
The function is described in the IMDS User Manual - Chapter 7 “IMDS Chemistry Manager”. Additional information on this new module can be found in the FAQ, category "IMDS Chemistry Manager".

#HelloDXC: Please be informed that as of April 3rd 2017, CSC and HPE Enterprise Services are now DXC Technology.
Due to this company merger, there will be some changes in IMDS, because the company branding and email addresses will change. Currently, there are no changes for the IMDS users. You can use IMDS as you did before and reach your IMDS Services using the existing channels. All changes will be scheduled and communicated beforehand.

Changes in HPE company details on January 1st, 2017
Due to the announced Spin-Off and Merge of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) company’s Enterprise Services (ES) Business with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) our organization will change effective January 1, 2017. All contracts for IMDS services are part of this organizational change and are transferred from Hewlett-Packard GmbH to the newly founded company EntServ Deutschland GmbH.
Please use our updated company information to setup our company as a supplier or to change the existing data in your systems. Please ensure that all purchase orders for IMDS services are addressed to the new EntServ Deutschland GmbH from January 1, 2017 onwards. The new company will start its operational business and will send all invoices with the new name from January 1, 2017.

New Functions in IMDS-a2 with Release 10.20
With IMDS-a2 Release 10.20, which will be rolled out on 12th May 2016, we will implement some changes in IMDS-a2.
Additionally you need to check your JAVA Runtime Environment before May 2016. New SSL certificates on the IMDS server may require an upgrade of your existing installation.

Data Exchange to other systems with the IMDS Advanced Interface (IMDS-AI)
To reflect the decision of the IMDS Steering Committee to allow the transfer of existing IMDS data to external systems under special conditions, the IMDS-AI contractual provisions will be amended on February 1st, 2016. How and under which conditions data exchange to other systems can be done is defined in the IMDS-AI Terms and Conditions and agreements. Any responsibility to adhere to the agreed rules is with the data-forwarding company. The AI agreements also define the criteria which need to be met by the target system. These criteria can be found on the IMDS Information pages, too.
The automobile industry OEMs support the data re-use and controlled export to other systems. Because they have been financing the IMDS for more than 15 years, a certain fee for IMDS data re-use will be introduced at the OEMs benefit. This Data Share Fee will be implemented as a supplement of 5 % to the current IMDS-AI license price, which is fix and not negotiable. New prices are published in the new IMDS-AI Terms and Conditions.
All existing AI agreements will be transitioned on a rolling basis, i.e. when the current agreement expires or if AI-using companies signal data sharing with other systems. If a company would like to renew the agreement before the expiry date, it can be renewed immediately.

HP introduces the new IMDS Conflict Minerals (CM) Analyzer
HP's IMDS CM Analyzer provides a search capability for all IMDS parts/products that are in scope for a Conflict Minerals Declaration (CMD), along with the supplier information (such as company name and key contact person). This information is then used to request a conflict minerals declaration via HP's Compliance Data Exchance (CDX) or via e-mail, when the supplier in scope has not yet registered in CDX. E-Mail recipients can use their IMDS registration data as a default to automatically register in CDX, but can review and overwrite all data or even deny registration in CDX. As a default, this step significantly reduces manual input of a CMD request.
Cooperation with tec4U: HP developed new CoChecker Module in IMDS-a2
The IMDS-a2 CoChecker module extracts and analyzes the content of selected material data sheets (MDSs) directly from the IMDS and save them as XML files on your PC. IMDS-a2 users can easily extract one or more components for the checks and simple pass the prepared dates to tec4U's CoChecker software. The CoChecker software checks against your conformity requirements based on your IMDS data.

IMDS Advanced Interface (IMDS-AI) enhancement will be rolled out to the IMDS production system on 30th May 2011
Based on requests of HP¿s IMDS-AI customers, we implemented the option to download the new file type "published Standard MDSs" only containing the standard materials published by the companies "Stahl und Eisen Liste", "IMDS-Committee", "IMDS-Committee / ILI Metals" and "ZVEI". This file is created daily as Initial File (MPSAll) and Daily File (MPSDaily) and can be downloaded like all other public data by every IMDS-AI-Licensee. The structure of the file / the file description is identical to the MP File. As this file represents an additional service no change of the IMDS-AI is necessary.

In August 2008 Hewlett-Packard acquired EDS. Per 01.11.2009 EDS Operations Services GmbH will be merged with Hewlett-Packard GmbH. Thus all EDS business, including IMDS, will be transferred to HP. Due to this transfer we will have some minor changes in IMDS in the coming weeks. The service of IMDS will stay uneffected and therefore have no impact on the current application and processes. Current IMDS customers have been informed about this via ordinary letter.
