Product Database EDS archives for Audi & Co.

The IT service provider EDS is setting up an international material data system on behalf of the car manufacturers Audi, BMW, Daimler-Chrysler, Ford, Opel, VW and Volvo. This system supplies information on the base materials of which the individual components of a car are made. The system is scheduled to be operational in March 2000. The background to this project is the voluntary commitment of the car manufacturers to recyling 95 per cent of all components of old vehicles by the year 2015.
