TECHNICAL INFORMATION OF THE IMDS-AI

The download functionality delivers the basic information that resides in the IMDS application (substances, companies, contact persons, published MDSs, etc.) and customer specific information (received and/or own MDSs and own modules) in a "flat file" format. The customer specific information and the published datasheets contain the complete structure of the MDS down to basic substances for further data management in your in-house system. The Download file specification can be found on the Administration > Download link after logging on with a User ID with Advanced Interface profile.

Especially for global companies having the need to process several times a day recent MDSs DXC offers the additional “Multiple Time Zone Download” service. This optional service allows you to receive data from the IMDS system up to 3 times a day to optimize your processes.

The upload is based on an XML format (Extensible Markup Language) that uses a DTD (Document Type Definition) for defining the form and structure of the data necessary for upload into IMDS. Whenever the XML-tag <Module ... ></Module> is executed successfully during an upload operation, the counter of available modules is decremented by one. The Upload file specifications can be found on the Administration > Download link after logging on with a User ID with Advanced Interface profile.

The IMDS-AI provides the data so that you can incorporate IMDS processes into local IMDS processes for product lifecycle management purposes. All Terms and Conditions of IMDS browser apply as well as the Terms and Conditions of the IMDS-AI license. DXC regularly synchronizes the IMDS Advanced Interface with the central IMDS application.
